I bought used 2003 fjr 1300 after 100 different motorcycles over the years , and after a suspension upgrade, braided lines, fork brace premium tires it's quite thehigh-speedd performance ride with comfort. In line 4 power, reliability with sport tuning capabilities, all without useless electronics, abs, rider modes. Easily out performs any ADV bike or useless Harley if you're an experienced rider.

I’ve gone from Versys 650 to Versys 1000 and now a Tiger 900 rally. Never completely satisfied. But the rally sure is better on rougher roads.
BMW F900xr. For the price and versatility it only needs a softer seat… 72 here and 500 mile days between my daily commute in and out of the city… only miss the Gold Wing after mile 400 on a long trip
Nice video and good to hear your thoughts. I ride a LOT of twisty backroads and do trackways on a well-sorted out FZ07, and I did not expect it, but my '23 GoldWing absolutely rips on backroads and gives me a nice quiet bubble of still air that helps me hugely on 300 mile backroad or 700 mile slab days, rain or shine. The GoldWing is a wolf in fat sheep's clothing, so I'd even drop that big girl into the sport touring category. The wing is remarkably well behaved on well packed dirt roads, but I don't really like dirt, I just don't. I've had dirt bikes and I laughed a lot going through muddy puddles, but I just love going fast on asphalt. It's the modern GoldWing for me. And that's the thing, there's no right answer for everyone, we're all different. Except BMW's. I hate them madly. For crissake fix those stupid turn signals… 🙂
Purchased a 2010 1400 kawasaki concours for 4000$ . Has side bags, top box, heated grips, electronic windshield and a throttle lock. I bought it to get me by while i choose a more luxury bike but this thing has everything i need and is very fast .
I will save you all the hassle. Its the Honda Goldwing.

I would love to try an FJR1400. To me the ultimate Tourette’s were those Sport touring bikes. I had two ST1300s that I racked up 100k on. When I turned 70 those were too top heavy so I’ve moved to a 2015 Gold wing. I’ll be 78 in a couple of weeks and I’ve learned the GW is easier to handle when I have push it around the shop. On the road It’s a dream of quiet motoring with an amazing lean angle, huge luggage capacity and decent mileage.
The Concours, FJR and the ST are just great mileage makers. Moto Guzzi and Triumph also have good sport tourers.

I have 2, 2023 RGs and a 24 Pan Am. Both are great for touring but overall the RGs are most comfortable 2 up and the PA for fun and touring alone. Great video, spot on.
Best tour bike is a tour bike. Period. Everything else is a wana be.
I'm riding what I own and that's a Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro. Good highway comfort, lots of extras like cruise control, heated grips/seats, quick shifter and ride modes. The sitting position is more comfortable than the sport tourers, and I can take it off the pavement when I want. My ultimate exploring bike!
I still have a 600cc Yamaha FZ6 and it’s perfectly fine as a Sports Tourer. If I want something bulkier, I take my Harley Heritage.
In my opinion you don’t need a bigger bike, especially here in Europe where Roads in Towns are freaking narrow

All the adventure bikes except the BMWs are ass on fire uncomfortable compared to both sports tourers and baggers, imho.
I'm looking to purchase Tracer 900 GT (or with +) for my long distance touring bike + day to day commute. By my concern is always seat comfortability for pillion. Some riders review have mentioned that the passenger pegs might be a bit close together, which could affect comfort on longer rides. Does anyone here ride Tracer 9 and long distance with pillion? Please give me your feedback. Appreciate it.
You forgot cruisers????? Most days, I'd take any cruiser over any of these bikes.
What you said about the goldwing not being able to keep up with other bikes..?…….. YOU ARE WRONG……
#1 I've found that the beating you take from the wind is exhausting so wind protection for long distances is paramount. This means full fairing and a plus is an adjustable windshield to control buffeting. #2 is the seat – wider/softer is better period. #3 is multiple foot positions. Ability to stand up means pegs/boards beneath you and a secondary position in front of you will add to your longevity. Take any of those 3 off and you're just testing your limits of suffering. I've done 12 hour days on an R1200RT and they weren't picnics. The Goldwing and the BMW K1600s are the only bikes I envy for long distance rides.
Try all the types over your riding life and you end up having lots of fun and regret every one you ever sold. Face up to it, you're all addicts, like me.
I just went from a 2018 BMW K1600 GTL to a 2024 F900 GS Adventure. The only thing I did to the GSA was put aluminum hard cases on it, once I had those it's almost as good as the GTL on the highway, and definitely better on fire trails etc!
I've ridden from the UK to Azerbaijan and back via Cyprus on a Vespa GTS 300. I even by mistake crossed a mountain range off road for 110 km in Georgia.
The bike you already have is the best bike for touring and not what a manufacturers marketing department think you need.
Saying all that I really do fancy a Goldwing.
The new Harley Low Rider ST is 100 lbs lighter then a bagger at 721 lbs and has fairing, saddlebags and a massive M8 117 engine. Its considered a sport cruiser but looks like a smaller Street Glide with that super torque monster engine. My next bike for sure. Safe travels everyone🙏

no bike can beat the big ADV or sport touring bikes…I`ve had different cruisers like, Indians, Yamahas and even upgrading the rear shocks still hurts in long trips…big ADV or sport touring like Tracer 9 or FJR are unbeatable.
