Friends! As always, your mileage may vary, but these are amazing places we wouldn’t really want to experience in 2025 if it were our first time going. The world is a big place and there are tons of easier/less crowded alternatives.
I think it's so interesting how when other countries don't want tourists there and discourage it and ask people to respect their cultures and norms…….it's acceptable and applauded. But if the United States says anything like that……we are immediately deemed racists and terrible people 🙄
Wrong info about Rome. The number of tourists is sensibly down this year and the Jubilee thing was a flop . No difference visiting in 2026 .
Little did y’all know, the Pope would pass, and a new one would be elected- in that time frame.
My GF and I were just in Japan for December/January and it was a little crowded but not enough for me to say you shouldn’t go. Definitely worth it and I would go again.
My son just came back from Kyoto. He had a great time. It’s all about timing. He kept his focus on a small section of Japan, took his time, and had a blast.
I would add DO NOT TRAVEL IN USA for the next 4 years!!!!
These places are busy all year round, sure some times are busier than others but most can't plan around that. The better tip is just to avoid major events during those events (Olympics, World Cup, Sakura Blossoms, Jubilee) if you're not planning on going to those events specifically.
The U.S should be avoided all together, simply because of the way the U.S., or should I say Trump treats the rest of the world.
Oh dear I’m booked on a Europe bus tour in Oct 2025. Going to Paris & Rome. Then 5 days in NewYork. 😂
Completely disagree with avoiding Los Angeles! It’s very easy to get around if you avoid rush hour times. As far as infrastructure, due to fire certain areas have been impacted. But remember, Los Angeles is huge and sprawling. It’s not tiny like NYC
Life is too short. If you have the means and time then travel. Dont put anything off.
Japan is blowing up w earthquakes
FYI, NYC is ALWAYS under construction, come and visit anyways- it is part of the charm
I like this video, but discouraging tourism to Valencia is pretty rough. How do we expect them to rebuild, when we decide not to visit and therefore deprive them of a large source of income for so many?
4 of the 5 places I was looking at visting are on the list 😭
Go to Bosnia 🇧🇦💪🤘🏻🙌🏻
I agree, no Rome don’t even fly into or out of Rome in 2025. BUT do come to SICILY!!! It is exceptional and filled with beauty, history, stunning crystal blue flag beaches, and a food and wine paradise!!!
Been to Rome begin January 2025. It was super.
New York and L.A. should be avoided. Not just for international tourists. Everyone! The crime in both cities is out of control. Japan is just plain boring. And the food is terrible. Paris smells like vomit and urine. Its full of petty thieves and grifters.
Experiences of different places and countries can be so variable and subjective depending on when, how and who with you go there. For example, Japan, although crowded in cities, was one of the best countries that I've ever visited.
The Trevi Fountain, The Spanish Steps, Colosseum, Eiffel Tower – were all massive nightmares when I visited in 2022. It's unfortunate, as I have chosen to get to Eastern Europe via Paris. Only need to be there for like 2 days, but I am mortified.
I can think of some other reasons to not visit L.A. or NYC. Like, if you value your life, you won't go to either city.
I'm planning a trip to Italy in late May, the end of shoulder season. This video has me a bit concerned.
When it comes to Spain, You have no idea guys. get your facts right!
I have visited Kyoto twice in a row these two years, and while the famous sites are indeed crowded; there are lesser known places to visit which are less crowded (just need to work around the travel times). There are also the other prefectures to explore which are in need of tourists to boost the economy such as Wakayama and Shiga Prefectures
Just changed our tickets from Italy to another destination. We were going at the end of May and everything was outrageously expensive.
I have traveled in good times and bad times. Busy times and down season times. If you want to go then just go. One could spend their whole life coming up with reasons to stay home. We are going to Rome in Sept. Flights, hotel, and cruise already booked.
I visited Japan this October, including Kyoto, and I would return in a heartbeat during spring or fall. I would even consider a winter trip; the only time I would refuse to go back is in summer due to the heat.
the worst tourist trap in the uk is stonehenge and I think you can even get close for free, there is another road you just get behind the fence and you equally see th stupid rocks
They should avoid NYC and LA because they are not even actually real parts of the USA. GO ANYWHERE else to actually see the USA
This video is spot on. The old saying 'knowledge is power' applies. We can't plan for everything when travelling away from our home countries, and that would be boring anyway, however it does help to have some insights into what we are going into on the larger scale and that is what this video is about I believe. We don't tend to travel in peak seasons, but it can still be busy in some areas. We have our own transport which allows us to pivot but weather events can impact as we travel by motorcycle. We don't avoid big cities but keep them to a minimum. I agree totally with Italy for 2025 as this is going to be a HUGE year for them – careful planning is going to be needed for anyone going. It is an amazing country though
He says "toorists", she says "tóhrists"…what can a foreign do to pronounce it right?
Good video Allie and Nik. Glad I'm not going abroad in this 2025. Staying put and saving up for 2026.
The World Cup is not being played in NYC (it will be played in NJ), so they are not doing infrastructure improvements because of it. They are building a new soccer stadium in Queens, but that is not going to inconvenience tourists. There may be subway infrastructure projects, but there are always subway infrastructure projects of some sort being done.
I love that you managed to get around the real reasons you should avoid NYC and LA!!
The weaker Japanese yen brought a flood of bargain seeking tourists to Japan. You know what that means.
You need an unlocked phone in order to use HOLIFLY. You should tell people that so they don’t get surprised when they land in Europe and it does not work for their locked Att phone.
When these countries make us feel unwelcome, they will feel the financial hit. Good luck to them!
so where are the good places to visit in 2025?
Avoid all of USA due to the poor currency exchange rate, the cost of food and tipping has gotten extortionate.
Thanks for your advices
Went on a whole European tour in May 2024. Rome was already ridiculous. Almost to the point that you couldn't enjoy it, so I couldn't imagine it being worse. I guess I lucked out with Paris tho. It really wasn't busy at all.
Paris is a no go 365 days a year. Went a few months ago and yeah nah. Airbnb was epic tho
Was in the LA area for Thanksgiving, and, yes, LAX is a bit of a mess right now. Looking forward to the completion of the enhancements. I-405 to/from the Valley was also a huge PIA.
I really don't care, i want to fly to Japan since more then 22 years and in October 2025 i will be flying! Finally! To be honest, i was in Venice in Oktober 2024 and yes it was crowded, but i was wandering mostly not were the crowds were and it was great.
