Minimal small jewelry is packed in a very small hard case repurposed ring case.
I wish I could wear merino wool. I have tried several expensive merino wool t-shirts but I just cannot. Can anyone refer me to a brand of light weight cotton or some kind of non-itchy material that can be worn repeatedly like merino wool and doesn't smell. Also that hand washes and dries overnight.
Also I have created a super tiny makeup kit (18 pan eyeshadow palette that fits in a business card case, mini concealer and lip gloss, foundation in a 5ml bottle)and mini skincare kit that each fits into a tiny snack size bag.
One simple hack to pack light….
Just take a standard carry-on rollerboard or a 40 L backpack.

I love to pack pre-portioned protein, smoothies that taste good with water. If I can’t find something to eat or am arriving at my location and don’t have an option to eat, it’s something that will keep me full for the time being!
Why don’t people fold a pant in half and pack that way. I never see that
Pack 3 days of clothes in your suitcase. Do your laundry. Don’t take a bunch of extraneous stuff. Buy toiletries at your destination. Problem solved.
For even smaller containers, get the free sample tiny screw top pots at makeup stores like Alta and use a piece of latex gloves between the lid and the top to make it water tight.
For many liquids, you don't need very much. Contact lens holders don't leak and would be large enough for small amounts of liquids that you need

Pack the hanging toiletries bag flat or with just a few items and then put the individual bags in it at your destination if you want everything together or hanging up.
Hi there ! Loved your tips , but kinda of lost . I live in Argentina will be going to London and Italy in June will be going for my 70th birthday ! Have so many questions ,one ,to me very important is ,can I take my crochet hooks on the plane ? Crochet is the only thing that relaxes me . I am very scared I will not be very comfortable, am overall afraid to make such a long trip . I will keep on watching your tips ,thank you .

7:46 you only need one floss pick for a 3 day trip?! I would need 6. Those things tend to break and are really only supposed to be used once and disposed. If you were using regular floss, would you reuse the same piece? 😷🤢

Hi Lauri. I'm new and wondering why I haven't discovered you sooner! You are so smart and helpful!! I wanted to leave a tip for packing jewelry that I learned from a jeweler. When packing necklaces with chains in containers such as a zip lock bag, let a small part of the necklace hang outside the bag. Ziplock the bag until the two ends meet at the necklace. It will keep necklaces from getting tangled up. It really works.
TAP personal bag can only be 4 lbs!!!! Like make it make sense. The carry on is only 22 lbs. RIDICULOUS.

I usually DON'T pack jewelry – I just wear a couple of favorite items for the entire trip.
If I take anything more, I'll take ONE dress-up necklace for evenings. I pack this in a sock (inside a shoe).

Hi love your tips. I don't bring alot of jewelry or wear much but what I bring I usually wrap in a scarf in a nice little bow. Put the stuff in little baggies if needed. Safe travels

I decant makeup remover for my eyes especially on cotton rounds and put them in a leakproof container, or even a ziplock. Once decanted it’s not considered a liquid.

I traveled the world for 2 years carrying a total 15 kilos. Now that I am not blogging and don't need the gear, I travel with 12 kilos, which includes both my bags and the items on my body. That comes out to 4 kilos under seat, 6 kilos overhead and 2 kilos on my body. My trips now are 30 to 35 days, so I don't have to pack so many consumables. I use a thin handled kids tooth brush it is far lighter than an adult one. My dentist said that I am cleaning my wisdom teeth much better with the small brush head on the kids brush.
Since I am ex military I am use to packing in threes. I take three black dresses, three black leggings, three underwear sets. Everything black all year around. I pick up nice scarves on the way to dress things up. I have light weight hiking shoes and s dressy moderate hilled sandals which can go from beach to nice restaurant. I wear a black beret. My dresses are comfortable and stylish I can wear them from picnicking to going to the opera. I find that my modest all black dress helps me blend in with the local little old ladies. I can walk clear a cross a tourist town in Italy without being asked if I want a tour or a guide.
I am pre-packing for a cold weather trip and am at 12.5 kilos, but I am hoping that by the time I leave to have it down to 11 kilos. I have a small fishing scale that is accurate to the gram. I weigh and re weigh everything. My dresses lost 35 grams between being new and being washed for the first time. I always remind myself that if I save one gram a 1000 times, that is a full kilo saved.

It’s a wallet and phone case in one. I use it everyday instead of a purse or bag but especially for traveling. This was an expensive purchase for me but I’ve now purchased a second one because I love it so much. 🎉

I take my earrings and rings off and leave them home. I don't bring any jewelry. I probably look like a "plain Jane" because I also don't bring makeup. I don't bring moisturizer or even lip balm.
