Hi everyone,
Firstly, I just wanted to say what a fantastic community this is. The travel tips and advice shared here are incredibly helpful.
As someone who enjoys travelling, I've always been interested in personal safety and hotel room security. That inspired me to create DoorShield, a smartphone app that turns your phone into a motion-activated security alarm for hotel rooms, holiday apartments, luggage, backpacks and valuables.
The idea came from wanting a simple way to know instantly if a hotel room door is opened or belongings are moved while travelling.
I'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts on the concept and whether it's something you would find useful when travelling.
Safe travels everyone!

"So relatable! I actually made a guide specifically for women traveling solo — everything from safety to planning. Happy to share the link if you're interested 🙂"
Hotel staff did give us a card for a room that was occupied by someone else! Fortunately, we didn’t actually see the person in the room but there were clothes laying on the bed. Hotel staffclaimed the room looked empty in the system and gave us an actually empty room.
great
these tips are awesome! i love solo travelinggg
You can buy travel size hairspray everywhere in the world pretty much this is what I take as a precaution so I feel safe and it stays in my jacket pocket. My back pack also has a whistle on the chest strap which is a nice feature
Hi love! First time seeing your channel, i really appreciated the tips you gave and you got me to smile when you mentioned the word of God. I've been thinking for soo long that i want to solo travel and this just gave me such inspiration and comfort! I'm taking your advice and subscribing for more future tips!
holaaa
I love how you did the Bible verse at the end ❤
Another use for Google maps is to scope out public transport stops, especially if the time you're planning to be there will be dark (especially important if travelling far north in winter); if it looks a bit dodgy in the day time you may want to make alternative arrangements (and don't forget that hotel desks + tourist information centres are good resources).
With regards to travelling solo and tech: I like to take 2 phones now. Not only does this ensure a back up but also opens up communication options ie- can have 2 esims (that way if the connection is down with one company, hopefully the other is still working)
