Just got back from Paris/London last week. Stayed in the 8th at Hôtel Le 123 Elysées! Great price, cool hotel and like 2 blocks from the Champs Élysées. No tour Eiffel views but you can see that from anywhere 🫣😏
But to visit the Palaces of Versailles, Chantilly, Fontainebleau, Napoleon's wife's castle at Reuil Malmaison, the gardens of Giverny, the estate and gardens of Saint Cloud, the forest of St Germain, the Royal Basilica of St Denis, the flea market of St Ouen, you have to take a transport pass beyond 2. And staying only in central Paris is not worth it.
