You put your shoes in the box so that everywhere you walked (including bathroom) was exposed to the items below the shoes. The germs on the bottom of those shoes are being transferred to your personal belongings. NOT SO SMART!

I don't like the shoes on top of your bags. and im not even one of those people who insist at shoes off at the door lol
Better yet, get a known traveler number.
i always put my medicines in a bright color bags (yellow or orange) so I won't forget or lose it.I have a lot of maintenance medications.
Expert tip just have two things with you and have pocket on one of them to put your phone and id in. Use the airline app and your email for boarding pass.

Listen to the agents before you get to the front of the line. I know in a lot of UK airports most of the time you don’t need to take out your electronics or liquids and don’t need to take off shoes (unless they are boots or bigger)
I believe that taking shoes off is not required any longer .
I have not been asked to take out toiletries for a few years. Domestic and international travel.
When I flew in May, I put my shoes in the bin, an agent removed them and put them beside the bin.
